A question or two about using performance data.

Featured Replies

I understand how to collect it, but I'm a little unsure how to proceed with filling in some of the blanks afterwards before saving it.

ย

First is Useable Fuel...I assume just look in the MSFS menu for the plane and see how many lbs are listed for the fuel tanks?
Second: Reserve Fuel...I read in an article you want to have a half hour of cruise GPH for a reserve, I assume this is where you want to put that?
Third: then what is Extra Fuel for? Just a place to put an even further buffer? Because right underneath that is Contingency Fuel...so now I'm really confused! ๐Ÿ™‚

And finally, when I fly with FSE I have pax or cargo onboard...where do I enter this to make sure the fuel calculations are taking the weight into consideration?

Also: can we send you our aircraft performance files? I see you have a space for the older sims, would you like to start collecting for MSFS? I'd be happy to share mine.ย

Right. Useable fuel is lower than capacity but normally good enough if you do not have the exact value.

Right. Estimate or take note of fuel consumption when flying holds at lower altitude. I'm sloppy and put fuel for around an hour at cruise level there which is not accurate but good enough for me. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

As the manual says: "Fuel that is added at the discretion of the captain or the dispatcher." I'd say you can ignore this for now.

Weight is not considered in the LNM fuel calculation. Also, different fuel consumption on different cruise altitudes is not considered. Maybe in a future version.
You can create separate performance files for heavy or light weight and different cruise altitudes if the differences matter.

Yes. it would be great to share these with the MSFS users. I upload all performance files here: https://www.littlenavmap.org/downloads/Aircraft Performance/

But LNM does not fully support MSFS yet. I did not check the fuel numbers so far.

I've been running and merging performance numbers for the G36 (with the updated performance fixes which have been posted so far) and I think it's doing well so far. I'll have to take your advice and maybe do different files for different altitudes, but so far the fuel calcs are pretty good.ย

How do you want us to share files? Send you a link? Post a a link here?

Good to know that the numbers match.

Either way is good to share the files. You can send me a link and I'll upload them.

Alex

Alright, I'll post a link here when I feel I have enough flights to give some decent averages.ย

Iยดd like to point out how wonderful is this product: Little Navmap

Congrats for your program
