September 8, 20205 yr So I noticed an issue where I've installed more than 1 livery pack from different authors for the same aircraft. I dropped them both into the community folder but only 1 shows up and not the other. Since I've seen a post and video that talks to authors about how to set up the folder and configs for "easy" user installations (where all we should need to do is drop all our paints into the community folder from various authors and all of them will magically work alongside each other), and since it is not working...all I can assume is that either the authors I've downloaded from are not configuring things correctly for global compatibility with other authored paints, or it's not so easy and they're messing it up until they get their heads wrapped around this. I have to admit that while I've watched the video I found the example to be less than adequate in helping me to fully understand how to config repaints so that they will all live happily together in the community folder. When I attempted to follow the video my downloaded repaints would not show up at all...so I'm obviously misunderstanding the guy who made the video. I guess I'm just an iddiot and he didn't iddiot-proof his tutorial 🙂 Anyone know a simple way to get all my repaints to live together in harmony in the community folder? September 8, 20205 yr I believe authors are waiting on guidance from MS on how to go about it. Currently they are configuring the plane (in place of the stock plane) and you can't have more than one mod work this way on the same plane. James
September 8, 20205 yr Author We're supposed to be able to just use a [variation] tag near top of the repaints aircraft cfg that points to the base aircraft folder and then make that repaint [fltsim.0] inside the cfg...and it's supposed to just add the repaint as a new variant. I thought then that this means you could have different folder with different repaints for the same aircraft as long as they all use the variation tag. But this doesnt seem to be the case. September 8, 20205 yr Suppose to and Reality seem to be two different things here and may also be the reason that the Free liveries from Microsoft seem to have been pushed back. It may be they need so more changes to the sim before it will work as they suggested. James
