Rolling Cache question

Featured Replies

I have looked all over the place and i myself have not found an answer that makes me understand correctly. Does it actually work?

So i assigned 30gb to rolling cache to my SSD and when i look at the file it registers as 29gb. Ok so it is set. But does the size go down or up? For a lamen like myself i would have thought that you set the size, then over time that file increases in size till it reaches max then starts again.

Instead it shows max size straight of the bat. So i AM confused.

Appreciate some clarification on it please 🙂

Regards

Mike

When you set your rolling cache, a file of the size you specified is created. It will not grow nor shrink over time. The simulator will fill it with data until it reaches your assigned 30GB, and then any additional data will replace older data in the file (thus the name "rolling").
