November 3, 200619 yr Currently flying helicopters in Hawaii. Un-friggin-believable. I could never fly helicopters with confidence in FS9...controllably and enjoyably. I'm doing it now on every island with 20+ frames, and 30 or more in some areas. Since I really flew in helos on various islands when I physically was there, it means a lot to me. Try it on any island.....You'll like it!
November 3, 200619 yr Helicopter flying in FSX really is wonderful now. Since I make my living within the real helicopter world, it is a joy to have some fun flying the helicopters in the simulator. Can not wait until Jordan over at Hovercontrol updates his FS9 models [start crossing fingers here].duttonhttp://dutton.fsblogger.com/
November 3, 200619 yr I flew the Robinson around Hawaii in the mission the other night, and it was great. I set realism sliders all the way left, since I am not too skilled with helos. Anyway it was a lot of fun. I still have trouble hovering, but overall it seems easier to control than in FS2004.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
November 3, 200619 yr Kauai and Maui look really great. The area around PHLI has been dramatically improved and now looks much better. Land class is still a little off- cane fields with trees :) but it gets the point across.
November 3, 200619 yr Author How about the Maui mission? Interestingly-I had just gotten back from there when I got the beta to test. Not only was I amazed at the scenery and whales etc.-but on that narrated tour I learned more about the island than when I had been there-just great! I can see a whole series of world wide tours like this-it is going to be great!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
