September 22, 20205 yr The famous 5000th P-38 Lockheed Lightning....!! I didn't know, the paint was (correctly) called "bright vermilion red"...in the color you've shown, here. Your (XP) painter, unless it's you,...🙂...knows his/her WW II history....! [Whenever I see the P-38, I'm (sadly) reminded of Saint Exupéry...and his disappearance in the same type of plane...off the island of Corsica...I'd done a post on him, a very long while ago...] Great flashback shot...!
