September 28, 20205 yr All of a sudden when I start AO I get the message "This tool should not be used when Prepar3D is running!" The problem is that P3D is not running. What could be the cause of this message? I´m usin v 1.55b10 of AO. /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152
September 28, 20205 yr Commercial Member This message only appears when there is a process called "Prepar3D" in the Windows process list. There is no way that I can see that this could happen accidentally. A process with this name is definitely there - it could be P3D or some other process with the same name. P3D takes a long time to terminate and can get stuck in the background - so the process is still running even if there is no app Window for you to look at. I suggest that you check with TaskManager if there is a process with that name. Best regards LORBY-SI
September 28, 20205 yr Author Thank you for answer. I have restarted my computer and checked in Task Manager every single process. No P3D or anything like it. I have searched in Process Lasso and could not find anything like P3D. Then I start PAO and get the same message " This tool should not be used when Prepar3D is running!". Of course, I can turn off the message because it does not seem to have a detrimental effect on the program's functionality. But of course it is very strange. My thoughts are that I have just uninstalled P3D v.4.5 and if it may have any connection but I have deleted all related files. Should a reinstall av PAO help? /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152

P4AO uses Systems.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcessByName("Prepar3D") to get a list of currently running processes that have this name. If there is one, it will display the message, otherwise -not. There is no way it could happen accidentally unless the P4AO program itself has been tampered with. This message cannot be turned off, not sure what you mean by that. September 28, 20205 yr Author Excuse my poor English. The right word would probably be that I close the message. I left-click with the mouse on X in the upper right corner. I have tried to reinstall PAO without success. /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152

This is just a message box, nothing more. I don't think that this has anything to do with P4AO. Something on your computer is tricking it into thinking that P3D is running. Always check the list of running processes in Task Manager when this happens, there must be something there with "Prepar3D" as process name. Maybe just as part of a process name? September 29, 20205 yr Author Of course you were right. Using Process Explorer I have found that there is a process Prepar3D displayed as suspended. I have tried to kill the process but are not allowed even as administrator. Perhaps the strangest thing is that when I start P3D, there are two processes for P3D. One for the running P3D and one suspended. So this has nothing to do with PAO. I have to wait for an update of P3D to 5.1 so that I have the opportunity to do a reinstallation. Thanks for your advice. /Thomas Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152
