October 4, 20205 yr Doing the King Air tour of Japan. Where should I be running the the Torq and Props for cruise, climb and decent? I know the target cruise airspeed is around 235 IAS. October 4, 20205 yr Author Thanks Glenn. The one article says you takeoff with Condition Levers at Low Idle and does mention them again. Surely that is not right? I am no expert on turbo props but I had the impression the Condition lever was mainly used on the ground ? Someone with more knowledge might have a better answer.
October 4, 20205 yr I believe you can leave them in low idle until you are on final approach. The high idle setting makes it quicker to go to full power in case of a go around...I think. October 4, 20205 yr On the kingair, condition lever is set to idle for taxi, and high for take-off, during flight you leave it in high. Then after landing checklist you set back to idle.
