Kyushu - West

 

Kyushu (literally "Nine Provinces") is the most southern and third largest island of Japan's five main islands.  The island is mountainous, and Japan's most active volcano, Mt Aso (5,220 ft), is on Kyushu.

The route is 329 miles in length with eight landings.  We will want an aircraft capable of cruising at 200Knts or better to compete the flight in time.  Because this route has several longish over water legs a faster aircraft might be better.  I will fly the TBM930 (FedEx) which is capable of 250+knts cruise. Our tour of eastern Kyushu will include the following:

• ·         RJFY - Kanoya
• ·         RJFK - Kagoshima
• ·         RJDA - Amakusa
• ·         Hashima Island (Point of Interest)
• ·         RJFE - Fukue
• ·         RJDO - Ojika
• ·         Hirado Bridge (Point of Interest)
• ·         RJFU - Chisun-Inn-Omura (Enhanced Airport)

Recommend Departure time of 6:15AM local so that we can experience the sunrise over the western pacific.
