FS2X Quest Koiak G1000 panel

Featured Replies

Folks,

I recently purchased the FS2x G1000 package (Don Kuhn?) and installed into FS9 no problem.  The website offers a free Quest Kodiak panel upgrade to users that have legitimately purchased this product.  (This panel was why I purchased the G1000 in the first place!)  The download for the Kodiak is a password protected file that uses the same password as used to install the package once purchase has been completed.  Except it doesn't!!  The purchase password will NOT open the Kodiak zip file.  (I appreciate that this website and it's products might well be long gone but they are still offering stuff for sale.....)  I have e-mailed the various addresses on the site, including the one used by Paypal for the purchase.  With no success....  Does anyone have this panel and could let me have it?  I am a legal owner of the base package and can supply a copy of the receipt if required.  Either that, or advice on how to open the zip file download of the Kodiak.  Thanks.

I purchased the G1000 package in 2016 and do remember the Kodiak password is different from the main G1000 package.  I extracted the files and saved them and do not have the passwords anymore.  Also, I believe it’s against AVSIM rules to share passwords. I know it took a day or two for FS2X to get back to me.

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

John,

Thanks for your reply.  It is encouraging to know that FS2X were still active in2016.  In general, I agree with - and understand why - AVSIM rules are against password sharing.  Which is why I carefully phrased what I was after to NOT include a request for it!

Regards,

PS:  Further thought - would you be able to confirm the e-mail address you used for FS2X?  I ask because I've had a couple returned.....  [email protected] has as yet, not been returned to sender.

You also asked this in www.flightsim.com, & there are answers there as well.

Andy,

[email protected] is the email address I used in my last contact in 2016 with Don Kuhn.

have you had any luck in contacting him?
