  1. Many years ago, I had a yellow Fiat 850 Sports Coupe... If only it did not burn out on me!
  2. I did leave the door wide open for that! (Best post so far)
  3. Now THAT is stunning!! Guess it's French? Just what we need for our sims. My tie for my 1st Place is the XB-70 Valkyrie & the Tupolev Tu-160 White Swan.
  4. Did I read correctly? Buying a game an investment? (Does it increase in value the longer you keep it? I've been simming for about 30 years now, without 'investing' anything. Yes, I spend time with my hobby, and have a lot of fun with the 'game'. Because of this, I've learnt a lot about different aircraft, and other things that populate my sim world. I have bought myself (not invested in) a set of pedals & a yoke to up my immersion factor. A great freeware developer once said that simming is all about Fun, Facts & Fiction. I also started with a Trash 80, Level 1, many years ago.. Good days indeed with those block graphics & jaggies.
  5. Heady days indeed!! & the choices we have with FS2004.. The immersion factor is huge, Flying the Bugatti scenery, Ford Tri-Motor scenery, Space (Yes, there is Space scenery), The list goes on...
  6. I'm preferring v4.5 I'm finding that, with the same settings, v5's greenery, trees, grass are more brighter than v4.5. Almost cartoonish in a way, when compared with the same scenery & settings in both. I'm still on the fence if I should dump it & keep to v4.5.
  7. I think that I've found the culprit.. My mistake, the error message I'm getting is from the Flying M airstrip, that's from Georender 1, I'm sure. The trees look like white blocks, with trees superimposed on it.I've really gone overboard, with Emma Field, Misty, all the Georender packs & Glacier Bay.It really makes for some nice flying. Something to explore, if you not into the usual point to point flying.Oh, I've also added all of The Ford Tri-Motor Project scenery, as well as Bill Lyons's packages., so I'm having so much fun again, with VFR flying & exploring. I've had the Georender files for ages, & unfortunatly, they are payware.
  8. I wonder if there are anyone that still remembers Misty Moorings & Misty Fjords? I had forgotten what fun they are to fly in, & after many years, I've reinstalled them. All good, except in 'Misty's Place' & another field that I just cannot remember, I've got what can be described as tank farms lining the runway. These, I'm sure, should be trees. Anyone come up against this?
  9. I'm adding Orbyx scenery manually, no issues so far. I guess I'm just old school & prefer doing things myself.
  10. Well, it does not happen to everybody. It's actually quite amazing that Updates work with all the thousands of computer hardware variations out there. I have no issues or slowdowns with my Windows 11 laptop, & no stutters with my P3Dv4.5, & my updates are up to date.
  11. I know that I'm late with this, but I also cannot download LMML. Both the download buttons on the part as well as the complete versions are greyed out, and there is nothing to download in the Version tab. I signed up yesterday at Simmerhome, and was approved this morning. I've filled out all I can in my profile. Any help appreciated.
  12. It was a payware model, unfortunately.
  13. Yes!!! I forgot about that one. Great looking aircraft.
  14. They are free, so try whatever you fancy. The ones that I tried are the A-90 Orlenok, Vulcan, Liberator, B-52, B-57, Buccaneer, C-130.... I think I probably tried them all, except the heli's It's a great collection to have.
  15. There is so much available, and there are new stuff coming out very often. Check here, and on the other sites as well. FS2004 is not really retro, unless you do a Golden Wings install, with retro & vintage aircraft. FS2004 also lets you have more than one install, & I have a few different themed installs, which also prevents any potential scenery clashes. I have a Golden Wings install, a Vintage install, a Ford Tri-Motor install, A Space install, a War Birds as well as a 'regular' install. Each have their own themed sceneries & aircraft. So, a bit of searching the web will find a lot of interesting things out there. It is sad that many sites are no longer with us, as well as developers that have moved on, and for a 20 year old sim, it is still going strong.
  16. Thanks for sharing. So sad that our developers from the 'old day' are fading fast. FS2004 is 20 years old now & still used by many of us. We've also lost many sites as well. Heather will be missed. Regards, Robin (Cape Town, South Africa)
  17. Yes, it should be there. If I remember correctly, the key assignments are in fs9.cfg (at or near the bottom of the listing) I use a search engine called 'Everything' from www.voidtools.com This is a very quick desktop search engine that finds whatever you are looking for, as you type.
  18. That will be in 'My Documents' folder.
  19. No! Windows Mode is Alt-Enter (Alt key & Enter key at the same time)
  20. No problems at all, running FS2004 on Windows 10 & Windows 11. To INSTALL FS2004 to your new Windows 10 or 11 PC 1. Install into C:\ NOT into it's default C:\Program Files 2. Install the 9.1 updatel 3. Install the 9.1 nocd patch 4. Right-click the FS9.exe, select Properties 5. Select Compatibility mode, & select XP 6. At bottom, then select 'Run as Administrator' 7. Double click the desktop icon
  21. Me neither. No adds at all, with my updated Windows 11.
  22. I just cannot 'hate' any operating system. Obviously, an older operating system is not optimized for modern & updated operating systems. So, a new PC might have issues running an older operating system. It may be a problem finding drivers. Waiting for the 'next best thing' is also a pointless exercise. It's a never ending search for the holy grail. I'm using Windows 11 on a Ryzen 7 laptop, with 16GB ram & an SSD, & I'm finding that my sims are running a lot smoother than when I was using an older obsolete operating system.
