October 11, 20205 yr I am looking at this pre-build system since no one seems to have RTX 3080 in stock. Any feedback? At $2,730 is it too expensive for what I get? Should I go up to i9 (+$300) or wait for AMD Ryzen Zen 3? Processor 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 10700KF (8-Core, 16MB Cache, 3.8GHz to 5.1GHz w/Turbo Boost Max 3.0) Operating System Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, English Video Card NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 10GB GDDR6X Memory 32GB Dual Channel HyperX™ FURY DDR4 XMP at 3200MHz; up to 64GB (additional memory sold separately) Hard Drive 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Boot) + 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s (Storage) Chassis Options Dark Side of the Moon chassis with High-Performance CPU Liquid Cooling with and 1000W Power Supply
October 11, 20205 yr Wait until the new AMD CPUs and GPUs are released and we can get 3rd party benchmarks. Both look like excellent value performers, Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.

But I found Digital Storm seems to have RTX 3080 in stock (was only looking at NZXT). So now I just bought this system (would have waited for Ryzen Zen 3, but I worry about future RTX 3080 availability) for $3,004.68 (including tax): Chassis Model: Digital Storm Lumos Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8-Core) 4.4 GHz Turbo (energy efficient - hopefully less hot and makes for a quieter machine? Seems enough for now and can be replaced for a future Ryzen CPU) Motherboard: ASUS PRIME X570-P / MSI X570-A Pro (Up to 2x PCI-E Devices) (No SLI Support) System Memory: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Digital Storm Performance Series Power Supply: 850W Digital Storm Performance Series (Modular) (80 Plus Gold) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS) (NVM Express) Storage Set 2: 2x Storage (2TB Seagate / Toshiba / Hitachi) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce RTX 3080 10GB (Performance Edition) (VR Ready) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex Liquid CPU Cooler (Dual Fan) (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance) Cable Management: Exotic Cable Management - Green - (Cable Combs with Custom Color Sleeved Extension Cables) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled Advanced LED Lighting System (Multiple RGB Color Modes) Airflow Control: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stock Factory Turbo Boost Advanced Automatic Overclocking Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: USB Drive - Windows 10 Installation (Format and Clean Install) Virus Protection: Windows Defender Antivirus (Built-in to Windows 10) Edited October 12, 20205 yr by aviator1213
October 12, 20205 yr For those 2 sims, that spec/configuration should work pretty well. RAM is good for Xplane. MSFS will enjoy the RTX 3080. And you have plenty of file capacity with that mix of 3 SSDs. The Ryzen chip should do well and keep both sims chugging along nicely. Enjoy your new rig! 👍 SpoilerSystem specs: MFG Crosswind pedals| ACE B747 yoke |Honeycomb Bravo throttleNow built: P3Dv5.3HF2: Intel i5-12600K @4.8Ghz | MSI Z690-A PRO | Asus Dual RTX 4070 Super OC 12Gb| 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200Mhz |Samsung 980Evo Pro PCIe 500Gb | WD Black SN850 PCIe 2Tb | WD SA510 4Tb |beQuiet 802 Tower Case|Corsair RM850 PSU | Acer Predator X34P 3440x1440pMark AldridgeMSFS2024 SU5 & P3D v5.3 HF2
