Wouldn't it be nice if we had an architecture where runway and taxiway properties, like runway number, were controlled by the contents of a text file and, likewise, the taxiway signs were linked to runways and taxiways in a way that they would automatically change when the runway/taxiway changes? That would at least take care of minor updates which could be done by the user. 

Sorry for dreaming. I know this doesn't solve the problem at hand.
