Bogus MS FSX patch on Avsim?

>It is legit-look a few threads down.>>>http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgI dont see anything related. Why would MS post a fix here and not on the official site and why would the person posting it use a yahoo email for 'fssupport'? Stuff like this makes me suspicious, maybe from too much 'net time'.

>It's not from Microsoft. The thread was discussed and a>microsoft rep commented on it. Search for Luis=it will>probably show up.>http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgMS was listed as the Author and fssupport@yahoo in the 'readme', hense my concern.

Thanks, that explains it! Dealing with the internet makes me paranoid sometimes :-)

The terrain.cfg was devised by the FS Team, not by me. Dick and I simply modified some small aspects of it.That is why I listed Microsoft as the principal author - out of courtesy, you might say.I can understand that there might be concern as to the legitimacy of programs obtained through the internet, but it would seem that the most sensible thing to do is just not install them, instead of becoming overly nervous. As to the support e-mail, it is there because the Avsim library will not accept any upload without an e-mail address. For any reason. Please do not use it. I am unable to provide any support whatever, for lack of free time, and will not be able to reply to any messages at all.For any questions, please post in the Scenery Design Forum.Best regards.Luis

Thanks for the explanation. The fssupport email addy threw me off as it appeared someone was trying to imitate MS.
