Really Weird Problem - FS or MS Store? Completely locked out

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a really weird problem with FS (although I think it is more likely to be on the MS side than my PC.

Suddenly, FS would not start. Clicking on the icon did nothing. Trying to run as administrator did nothing. I had initially installed with Gamepass and then bought the Premium Deluxe version.

When I looked on MS purchase history, instead of showing this purchase it says ' Microsoft Flight Simulator - 340 FlightSim Credits'

I tried to talk to MS support about this but they didn't have a clue, were no help at all

So, as all I had on my M.2 system drive was Windows and FS, I reinstalled Windows and tried to download FS again - the Gamepass version as it didn't show that I owned the Premium Deluxe

It installed all the MS store files but when I tried to run FS to do the bulk of the install, again nothing.

I am hoping that someone may have come across this as I have no idea what the issue is. I think it is on the MS side but I can't speak to anybody there who really knows anything about anything much.

Thanks,

ff

I'm not sure what the issue is.

But when I'm in Microsoft Store (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps) and click on my username and Order History, I get two items:

Microsoft Flight Simulator - 120 FlightSim Credits (This is the Mooney I bought through the in-game Marketplace.)

and

Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe

Did you buy Premium Deluxe through the in-game Marketplace?

If you bought the premium deluxe upgrade through the in-game marketplace on a Gamepass copy of the game, it's likely it did not come with the base version of the game, just the premium deluxe content.  Several people have fallen into this trap.

So you're probably going to have to pay for the base game as well.

The way Asobo is doing the Marketplace is totally bonkers.  Microsoft XBox support has no insight into it, Steam has no insight into it, as far as they are concerned you are just buying 'credits' that Asobo is in charge of.  And then Asobo provides no 'account balance' page or any method to track what you have purchased.

It is not his issue as he is still using Game Pass. If he can get MSFS to install with his game  pass account then he will also then get the prem delux extras he bought. The issue is his install is not getting beyond the first part on the install. As an aside all purchases in Marketplace within the game are via game credits. You chose to buy a marketplace item, game takes your money to buy the corresponding number of credits and then uses those credits to buy the item.  Sadly I don't know why he cannot get beyond the small initial ms store install.
