  1. Looks great! I like that they've built a "classic" version and not a -J Super Hercules, although that would have been cool too. My father flew these when I was a kid, so I have a lot of nostalgia looking at that cockpit. I hope they got the sounds right, the reverse thrust sound on these could make the hairs on your arms stand up.
  2. You can run in windowed mode and just drag the screen over all the monitors you have, and FG should work fine.
  3. I can see the difference between 30 - 45 - 60 - 75 - 90 FPS in MSFS. I never fly without TrackIR so that's probably part of the reason. Maybe higher, but my monitor is limited to 90 Hz. It's really interesting that people are different in their perception of flickering. I know some animals react differently to different Hz light. Dogs see most TVs as flickering, which can be part of the reason they don't always see what you see on the screen. If you have a 120 HZ TV your dog would probably see it not flickering. Same thing with modern light bulbs. Your poor Chihuahua might live in a techno concert all his life and you don't know.
  4. I wouldn't cancel my order over something like that, the solution (if it happens) is $40-50 for a DAC / external sound card with headset jacks, which includes better quality sound.
  5. My brother had an issue with low performance on a computer that was recently upgraded. The solution was to install the latest chipset drivers for the motherboard, and everything was fixed. Probably obscure, but very easy to do and check off the list.
  6. This looks promising! Will have to get this one just to play around with even though I usually only fly GA.
  7. I think it's strange we haven't seen one of the most popular avgeek aircraft out there, the Boeing 757. Last one was 10-15 years ago? I don't know anything about Bluebird and their quality level. I do know there's speculation about a PMDG 757. That would be amazing, but knowing PMDG it could take a couple of years.
  8. I agree. The external textures are not great either. Metal looks plastic, rivets etc. look very little detailed. I hope this is just a result of a bad bump map, but they should revise the specular map as well. I hope it's not being dumbed down texture wise to fit Xbox limitations.
  9. Holy macaroni some of these liveries are amazing. I love the interior cabin, but the Etihad and SAS liveries are particularly appealing to me.
  10. Congrats with the new rig! The system you chose is incredibly powerful, and it's awesome that you see such a big improvement.
  11. A 757 would be amazing. Such a legendary aircraft, still in wide use (at least in America), powerful and a good 80s cockpit with the appropriate mix of steam gauges and Nintendo.
  12. What's wrong with your sportscar limiting speed to 40 km/h down the Autobahn? It's way too slow.
  13. I know you checked NCP, but did you check V-Sync specifically under the Microsoft Flight Simulator tab in NCP?
  14. To be honest, it has maxed out sometimes, but I've not seen any negative effects because of it. No stutter or any type of lag going on when it's at 15-16GB VRAM. With a typical complexity scenery and a light complexity aircraft it will be at 8-10GB VRAM usage. I did some tests by going to windowed mode and spanning the sim over three monitors at more than 8000x1440, and that shot the VRAM to the max and there was some stutter on panning. But on 3440x1440, no issues even when you reach 16 GB. And I would like to add that I have a 2nd monitor with 2560x1440p running maps and such. I've never noticed any impact. That's with everything on Ultra and TAA. Just smooth flying. 😎
  15. I agree with this. I upgraded from 3900X to 5900X to 5800X3D over the last few years. The biggest leap in game/sim performance was from 5900X to 5800X3D, believe it or not. So I would say the 5800X3D is worth it if you're on AM4 and want a relatively cheap upgrade.
  16. Thanks for the suggestion. I've been looking at NVMe cloners that are built for this job, but they're still quite expensive.
  17. I don't think it's going to work with an M.2 NVMe drive, could work with a M.2 SATA drive of course. Anyways, didn't mean to steal the thread.
  18. Thank you for taking the time to explain this. 👍 I have two M.2 slots on my motherboard, as well as a PCI-E extension card with another M.2. And they're all populated. So I would have to get an external device I think.
  19. What hardware do you use to clone? Do you have an available M.2 slot in your computer you use? Or do you do it externally through some device?
  20. I think it would be better with a fixed price. Or a subscribe one month, if you like it you get a big discount on an outright purchase. Or you could continue subscribing during periods you want to use it. The issue is probably that this service uses a lot of resources and therefore needs a steady income to pay for servers and so on. So fixed price might not even be an option. Interesting concept though. I think AI technology will improve our hobby quite a lot in the coming years.
  21. I know a recently retired A350 Training Captain who knows the A350 very well, but also the full motion simulators they're using. I think I'll mention to him that Inibuilds are looking for people like that.
  22. So this "mod" also gives "FG" for AMD cards? I'm really tempted to try AMD next time around.
