October 26, 20205 yr Good afternoon, I am currently on a trial license to try out Pilot2Atc in MSFS. The issue I am having is that the frequency gets stuck on GND. I have turned on and off copilot control. I've tried setting the Freq's manually in MSFS and when I go to switch them it goes back to the GND frequency. I've tried to request clearance and let the autopilot change the freq. When he does it automatically goes back to GND. I've tried two different airports both CYYZ and CYUL. I am also using X-ATC chatter. I really don't want my trial to expire before I am able to actually test this great product out. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you have a great day! Kyle
October 26, 20205 yr Commercial Member Some aircraft don't allow external programs to change frequencies. In that case, you have to change the frequency in the cockpit manually. You can still have the copilot make the calls it can make (those other than requests for pushback, taxi, departure, etc). It will make the call when you change the frequency. Dave
October 26, 20205 yr Author I've tried the King Air and the Longitude and both do not allow me to enter Freq's without it reverting to the GND Freq.
October 26, 20205 yr Commercial Member Make sure you have the latest update of FSUIPC7 Beta running. Earlier versions did have some issues with MSFS's SimConnect which may have included such problems. I believe the Beech Baron works OK. Try a different airport also. KSEA would be a good one to try. Okay so the weird thing is CYUL and CYYZ both work to get CLR DEL when I spawn on the runway but if i go to a gate it doesnt work
October 26, 20205 yr Author Now the new issue I am getting is the aircraft isn't following the flight plan in P2ATC
October 27, 20205 yr Author Also this can't be right CYYZ to KMCW isnt 600nm https://gyazo.com/c30c090ce653850c4ea1dfa3cc352eea
October 27, 20205 yr Author I've tried planning flights in MSFS, P2ATC Navigraph and simbrief. Although they do make the flight plan in P2ATC in game it doesn't fly anything. And when you import it into msfs it's all screwed up unless you spawn on a runway.
October 27, 20205 yr Commercial Member You need to validate the flight plan to have it recalculate distances, TOD, etc. After you make a plan in any of the flight planning tools, the plan must be imported into MSFS. Only MSFS has the aircraft and GPS that will fly the flight plan. And yes, MSFS has a lot of problems right now.
October 27, 20205 yr Author Oh okay, so the only issue I have now is that when I import the flight plan to MSFS it gives me a runway start as my spawn. If I change it too a gate MSFS adds a lot more to the original flight plan. If there is a manual on how to use MSFS with P2ATC much would be appreciated as I think I'm having issues that some others might not be.
October 27, 20205 yr Commercial Member No, there is not a manual. There are many threads on this forum that will help. After you load the flight plan into MSFS, and still on the World tab, use the drop-down menu on the Departure Airport at the top of the screen that says Runways to select the gate you want. This should not affect your flight plan. Be sure not to touch anything on the map as this will change the flight plan.
October 30, 20205 yr Author So I have tested most of the aircraft that I wish to fly in OnAir and for streaming to show off P2ATC and none of them work. I have followed all instructions on the forums with importing the flight plan which has no issues. The major issue I am having is that it doesn't matter if I change the freq's in P2ATC or in game, P2ATC forces any changes to default to GND frequency. I have even tried to have the copilot do it and still defaults to the GND Frequency. I am running the latest version of FSUIPC.
October 30, 20205 yr Commercial Member Other than when the copilot changes frequencies to the assigned frequency, Pilot2ATC does not change frequencies. This sounds like you have MSFS AI controlling ATC which would have it force the frequency to whatever it thinks it should be on. Make sure everything in MSFS related to ATC is turned off. Dave
October 30, 20205 yr Author Okay thanks! I think all I had done was turn the volume of ATC / Copilot down. I believe the setting is under Assistance?
October 30, 20205 yr Commercial Member Yes. Here are all the ones I've turned off related to ATC. Some of them might could be left on, but I have them off either because they interfere with P2A or because they are not needed if you have P2A. Options -> Assistance->Piloting->Delegate ATC To AI - OFF Options -> Assistance->Navigation Aids->Route & Waypoints - OFF Options -> Assistance->Navigation Aids->Taxi Ribbon = OFF Options -> Assistance->Navigation Aids->Landing Path - OFF Options -> Assistance->User Experience->ATC UI Panel Open at Start - OFF Options -> Assistance->User Experience->Show Message Log in ATC Menu- OFF Options -> Assistance->User Experience->ATC Voices - OFF Dave
