Having problems creating aircraft file for FBWA320NX

Featured Replies

I have downloaded these files:

MSFS Tutorial IFR Bembridge (EGHJ) to Wick (EGPC).pln and Tutorial IFR Bembridge (EGHJ) to Wick (EGPC).lnmpln

But the runway at EGHJ is very short, I can barely take off so how am I suppose to create an aircraft profile for this plane?

I managed to take off but way earlier then norm. I rotated at about 115kts and had to pull up in order to clear the trees at the end of the runway. set my initial climb to FL300 for my cruise altitude, not sure if thats right. Getting errors in LNM complaining that 24500 ft is the max or something. But anyways. I'm not sure if I am suppose to fly the entire route? In LNM it says the route is 538 nm and will take 5h54m. That's an awful long time.

Do I fly the route as is with the AP engage, and do I need to manually select the SID/STAR and approach? The instructions to create the flight plan are a little off because there seems to be a few options that are new in the latest LNM vs the time that document was written so a few things are throwing me off and I'm confused.

I loaded the lnmpln file into LNM, and the pln file in MSFS. Did a takeoff but decided to quit the flight because I wasn't sure if I needed to fly the entire route for approximately 6 hours in order to create this aircraft performance file.

If anyone has this file created, could they please just share it with the community.

No idea what you're doing there. The example plan for the tutorial uses 10000 ft cruise altitude and does not show any errors.

The manual and tutorials are not updated yet. That's one reason why I call this version a beta.

Edit: I'd suggest to use another plan to create the performance for the bus. The plan in the tutorial is only for small aircraft.
Practically any typical flight plan with typical cruise altitude and typical load will do.

Okay I have a PHKO-PHNL plan that I made. It's roughly about 1.5hr flight and cruise altitude at around FL260. Will this work? Also can I use the default fuel that's loaded which is around 10,600lbs or does the plane need to be configured a certain way before I attempt to take off?

Sounds good.

Use a raw estimate about needed fuel and a bit more. Refuel in flight if needed. You'll probably descent too early or too late the first time.

Once you have a first profile you can merge new data for every flight and refine the profile. You can also create more profiles. One for short hops at low cruise altitude and another one for long haul for example.

You can follow the tutorial more or less except that aircraft and flight plan are different.

LNM does no super precise fuel calculation (who does anyway?). Aircraft weight and fuel flow at different cruise altitudes are not considered. But it's good enough for my MD-80, B727 and A319 trips. More complex aircraft (like the mentioned A319 or the MD-80) give you an fuel estimate in the FMC/MCDU. Then you can use the LNM values as a starting point.
