November 6, 20205 yr Hi All I would really like some advice, is there away to separate the engine and other sounds to an external set of speakers and leave the ATC and cockpit sounds for the headset? I use a USB headset and if I use the P3D sound settings it puts all sounds in the external speakers except ATC but then all switch sounds, and other cockpit sounds are also only audible thru the external speakers. Do i need another sound card? Thank you all.
November 6, 20205 yr I don’t use default atc. But I do vatsim. I use an Arctic 5 headset with chat mix. It has a volume like mix dial. I assign one output to P3d and the other to vpilot. Then I can control the mix. May not be relevant though for your case 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
November 6, 20205 yr As P3D has only 2 channels for separate output sound, one for normal sounds (which is engine, cockpit and environment) and the other for voice (ATC) there is no possibiltiy to seperate the output engine from cockpit i. ex. Indeed the soundengine seems to be more or less non-focused by the devs, as P3D has even no multichannel sound like Dolby 5.1, 7.1 or THX But if you bind your Headseat to the two channels "Standard output device for voice" and Standard input for voice, you should hear only the ATC voices thru your headset. November 10, 20205 yr Author Thanks All, I think its impossible to have cockpit sounds with the ATC in the headphones which I think is a pity.
