Setting Up a Flight Plan??

Featured Replies

Using the MSFS World Map I can set up a flight plan via picking the Departure & Arrival airports.

I can also click on any airports along the way,  & 'Add' them to the flight plan.

However, what i would like to do, but so far haven't figured out how to, is to 'Add' to the flight plan items such as POI's.

So the flight plan may zig zag somewhat but it would take me over places I want to see.

Any way to add in POI's or general scenery, such as a mountain top, into the MSFS flight plan?

Thanks

I think Iff you search MSFS 2020 flight planner there are POIs there and

custom waypoint. I think by mags or Magz.

Hopefully you get answer here iff not might be worth a look.

Firstly, make sure Landmarks, POIs and Fauna are switched on in the World Map (If not already), using the "Open Filters" menu.

POI's can be added by clicking on them and selecting "Add".

"Custom" locations, such as your mountaintop example can be added by clicking on their location in the same way, though I find it a bit flaky - sometimes it works, sometimes nothing happens (i.e. no menu pops up to add it). If you don't know the precise location on the map, go to Bing or Google maps (or even Wikipedia for example) to find it's co-ordinates, and enter them in the search box on the World Map page.

For example: Mount Etna Wiki link. See the co-ordinates at top right of that page? Click on that link and it will take you to the GeoHack page. Copy the Decimal co-ordinates (in this case 37.755, 14.995) and enter them into the World Map search box in MSFS. Alternatively, when using Bing or Google maps, right click on your location of interest and copy the co-ordinates from there. With Bing, they'll appear straight away, whilst with Google, you'll need to select "What's here?"
