November 15, 200619 yr Just installed FSX, it is a beauty! Have already fiddled around to achieve an initial nirvana of 15-40 fps (sparse agen, no AI/animations, all sliders max, no shadows, no bloom). Now to install the fps fixes now for the agen. Now here go the strange issues,1) How the heck do you get the VC to appear?2) If you turn on real weather you can see it in spot view but not in cockpit???3) How does one view the aircraft from all angles in spot view? The camera view is only a camera stuck to the wing. Where is the FS2004 option of being able to adjust spot view distance and view angle?4) How do I pan the view in 2d cockpit for heaven's sake? :)Appreciate if someone can help.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
November 15, 200619 yr Familiarity with FS9 is no substitute for using the Learning Centre in FSX. The differences, where they are, are substantial. The kneeboard also contains all the key assignments, including those for the VC and view adjsutment. There is now a quick way to switch between VC and 2d panel, and also a variety of view options within the VC section. Check the literature for details as, once you are familiar, it really is a pretty good advance on anything before, except for Track IR.Allcott
November 15, 200619 yr Hi Shez,So many questions while all answers are on the kneeboard (key commands tab). Perhaps you should start to read them first before asking.Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
November 15, 200619 yr Yes thank you.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
November 15, 200619 yr Hi Allcott; (appologies, Shez - not really wishing to hijack your post) - what problems are you experiencing with TrackIR? I'm running XP Pro SP2, FSX with TIR4, version 4.1.029 alpha 3 drivers, and, apart from having to depart from the default curves, am having only one issue, which I'm expecting will be fixed in the stable release. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
November 16, 200619 yr The question about no weather showing in 2d panel still stands. Not sure if anyone else is facing this? The VC is fine.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
November 16, 200619 yr Good questions, Shez. Remember posters, many of us are notable yet to purchase FSX, thus cannot look at the softwarefor answers. They are very interesting questions & a coupleof simple shorts answers would be appreciated by many of us.Peter Sydney Australia
November 16, 200619 yr "The question about no weather showing in 2d panel still stands. Not sure if anyone else is facing this? The VC is fine."Hi Shez,You are absolutely right, that question has not been answered. I searched for some real rainy weather and checked your problem. As well as the spot view, the virtual cockpit view and the 2D view showed me the same kind of weather: rain. So I could not reconstruct your problem and I have no answer to your question. Perhaps someone else?Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
November 17, 200619 yr I figured out the problem on another thread. My camera.cfg file was blank for some reason. I copied the one from the root FSX folder and the views are OK now. They are great in fact!I have not checked the weather from the 2d panel but I assume it would be OK now. Will let you know if not.FSX is really impressive! It will be perfect when Squawkbox4 can get me on to VATSIM...Thanks for replying constructively.Shez Shez Ansari Windows 11; CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K; GPU: EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080Ti 11GB; MB: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5; RAM: 16GB; HD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB SSD, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD; Display: ASUS 4K 28", Asus UHD 26"
