A320 FBV mod and popout windows on 4 screens

Featured Replies

The A320 with the FBV mod really is a joy to fly now.

The pop out displays on my touchscreen, normally used for AirManager works very well.

I fly it with a left hand side stick (VBK) slightly reduced sensitivity (-30% both axis)  it is quite easy to handfly even x-wind landings.

The AP works very well and seems to fly well both SID and STAR as well as manual vectoring. No auto landing yet, but I always fly the last thousand feet by hand anyway.

Up until now I have stuck to flying the M20, C182, Cubs and the MA399 both VFR and IFR. But now I think the A320 is very enjoyable as well. This is great before I jumped back into X-plane to fly the FF A320 and other payware tube liners.

FBW is doing a fantastic job IMHO and fast. The MCDU has a lot of good functionality, by no means complete but much improved over stock version. C&D startup feels good as well.

If you have not tried this lately I suggest you give it a try. The graphics just blow me away in FS2020, and now in the A320 as well. I can only imagine how great FS2020 will be in a year.

Below are 2  photos of my setup flying the A320 into Portsmouth and Boston.

But don't you have cut the fps by 1/2 when popping the instruments out? I tried this once and observed it and quite a number of people on the official forum are reporting it as well. Or is there some trick to avoid this?

Kind regards, Michael

I get about 30 fps landing in Boston with this setup. I have update instruments set to medium. And I don't notice a difference with that setting even with all 5 popped out.

I have a pretty old system as you can see below, but I get good frame rates 25-40 mostly high settings some ultra. I window the sim in the top 3 windows all 1080 screens and use the sides for the VFR map and settings ATC etc. This way there really is no distortion, or very little.

The last update really seems to help. And the latest developer version of the FBW mod, not the stable one.

Thanks, maybe I should try it gain, it was quite some time ago. And not FBW, just the naked A320.

Your setup is sure impressive and shows what can be done right now!
