Crackling in the sound...

Featured Replies

I seem to get a crackling sound whenever I select the outside right or left wing views. Anyone else hearing this? Thanks,Jim

Not I. What soundcard do you have. I did have a problem like that with and old Creative Labs 5.1 soundcard it would cracklie in almost every game. I hated that card. You may just need new drivers or a new soundcard, or maybe you have a damaged speaker also.

I had that problem, but solved it by turning down the scenery complexity. If you haven't done so recently, try updating your sound card driver.Martin

I had a similar issue, even after updating the sound drivers - and in my case it did indeed resolve it by turning down some of the display settings. It would also usually fix it after switching views if you pressed Q to turn sound off, and then again to switch it back on!

I had that problem with the MB sound...Infact it was yesterday I moved my Audigy 2 Z card from my older PC to the my current PC. And I think I got rid of that crackling sound.Manny

Thanks for all the tips on this problem. I seem to have solved the problem as the crackling sound is no longer present. My sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. The solution for me was to run DXDIAG, select the sound tab, and reduced the hardware acceleration by two positions. Thanks,Jim
