Radius of Multiplayer visibility?

As per title lads. What is the radius of my fellow sky-dwellers visibility in the sim and can it be increased/ reduced?

Someone told me its upwards of 200nm. Do not have any source outside of word of mouth so could be completely off the ball there. Also depends on how dense the area is as the sim will only display 50 aircraft at most.

Yes, I did hear it shows a maximum of fifty aircraft. Problem is I'm close to LHW and LGW - which tend to attract a lot of pilots.

I wish there was a way of reducing the radius down to - say, for acceptable VFR "see and be seen" awareness to 15 or 20 miles.
