P3d v5.1 HF1

Featured Replies

Here's a question that someone might be able to answer; after doing a full install of V5.1. I deleted the shaders as suggested. The first time I loaded a flight (PMDG 737 NXGu @ FSS Vancouver airport) I noticed my FPS had dropped from a previous 23fps at the gate with everything off, to 15. Curiously, every time I start P3d, I gain a couple of fps each time. I am almost back to where I was before. Now, I also note, that just as the progress bar fills when loading a flight, the last item is "compiling initial shaders". It does this each time. Is there a correlation between the continued improving performance and the adjustments to the shaders? Also (and this was really weird) when I enabled EA, my Vram usage dropped. Trust me, I'm not going to complain lol

This is normal... over time, you will have all the required shaders compiled.. 🙂

And does that affect performance?

Not after they've been compiled..
