Is it me or there is a performance issue on the GPU side?

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I have noticed an issue which I am not sure what is it exactly, for example whenever I start a flight, the FPS looks to be good, however after sometime, especially upon landing on third party airports, the fps will drastically go down, the VRAM will be filled up and I will be GPU Limted . However if you start at the same airport as new flight, FPS will be on check. Has anybody noticed such as issue?

I am pretty sure, this issue was present before patch #5.

There definitely seems to be a memory leak or some other issue after a long period of time.  Performance does slowly deteriorate for me after 90 minutes or so on the same flight.  I would almost expect this though with the amount going on.

I saw similar with X-Plane and FSX also when doing long distance flights.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yeah indeed, I have found it that if you resize the MSFS window (smaller and the back full screen), seems to solve the issue by freeing up some vram and hence get back the normal fps. However, you'd do this every time vram fills up 😕

Looks like there was an issue that they just resolved in the latest patch, or at least one of the things that may have been contributing to it.

The AI aircraft were not being flushed, no matter what the distance.

I am so glad we never got the usual problem deniers, because now I would be going Nah-Nah Ne Nah-Nah! 😛
