Steam version not updating

Went over to dad's house he's been flying the sim but it never updated to the latest version.  I started the sim a couple of times and it doesn't check for updates like mine does.  I started it with the icon and through Steam no joy.  He's still showing the Japan scenery updates not the USA one.  Anyone with Steam have a clue what's going on?  He is connected to the internet.

There are issues with MS servers during the last couple of hours. They’re out of service it seems.

I was just about to ask this too. I had the Steam update yesterday evening while playing Train Sim World 2, but didn't want to tie the PC up close to bedtime grabbing the MSFS update. However when I went on earlier this evening, as the OP states it just loaded straight in to the current (well, previous!) version.

Hopefully they will get it sorted.

Start the update by going to the app store first, once that updates start the sim. Once the sim has finished updating and loaded go to Profile/Conent manager and download everything that needs updating, once that has finished go to marketplace/ free and download the USA update (4GB). Then go fly.

Bear in mind we are referring to the Steam version here - about to try in about 5 mins!

Edit: Yes, it's updating now.
