November 29, 20205 yr Ok so I have finally managed to take off and land at my chosen destination in the A320 NEO. Problem, on short final I turn the auto pilot off and land on the runway and then the control from my joy stick is all over the place, impossible to control the aircraft after touch down on the runway, I go onto the grass back onto the runway eventually ending up in the trees. Now when I take off the joy stick is fine no problem, straight down the runway and off I go so what happens when I land ? why is it not possible to control the aircraft ?. BTW I have switched speed hold off about three miles from touchdown and my touch down speed is around 140 or slightly less. Anybody that can help ?.
November 29, 20205 yr I have always felt there is something funky about runway surface contact with MSFS.
November 29, 20205 yr Is your joystick associated to rudders as well? If NO, then that's the problem. Because Ailerons cant control arcrft on ground. you gotta apply rudder and tiller inputs. Spd hold doesnt have any role to play... in terms of controlling.
December 1, 20205 yr I have the same issue, but not just with the A320, in fact I haven't even set a virtual foot into her yet, so it's not confined to that aircraft, or any aircraft. I think part of it is that I've got an old, word not allowed controller/semi-HOTAS, and nothing is in stock anywhere, so I haven't spent too much time worrying about the problem until I can get something new and of high quality. I also can't use rudder pedals because my legs don't work right, so I'm stuck with a twist stick or some other substitute, but I don't even know what my hypothetical options are because of the aforementioned shortage. But regardless of how much my controls suck, there's still an issue with winds, maybe rudder control, and perhaps coefficient of friction of tires and runway, and that needs to be addressed by Asobo.
December 2, 20205 yr Author Ok I think I have solved this. I set my FS to "easy" so you get help taking off and landing and I think that this affects the joy stick on landing when it tries to compensate your input in trying to direct you to where it has been programmed "to help" I changed to " hard" and it now seems ok. Hope this makes sense.
