Strange problem in FSX!

Featured Replies

Has anyone seen this? FSX starts up fine, then within 5 minutes of flight (Seems consistant) it will loose focus (Not crash) for no apparent reason. It will usually do this twice close together, then never after that! Don't know if it's related, but it seemed to have started after I installed FSUIPC 4.0 (Registared)! It's not a big problem, more of an annoyance than anything!

Thanks

Can you paste a screenshot perhaps?

Can you paste a screenshot perhaps?>No Kurt by 'lose focus' he means the Windows application goes into the background. I.e. the title bar turns gray. This often happens when an application locks up.No I have not seen this happen with FSX, and I use FSUIPC too. FSX has crash on me, but when it did, it did a complete reboot crash. Not even a CTD. And then it did the infamous 1477 error or whatever it's called, requiring a reinstall and using up yet another activation. :(I am a supporter of Product Activation when it is done properly, and works right. But with FSX, it is too finicky.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Not seen that, but it could be a sign that your keyboard is acting up and sending spurious inputs. Happened to me about a year ago whenever I used an apppication in anything other than full screen. Eventually traced to the keyboard but that took some time!Allcott

I had this happen to me with both FS9 and FSX. FS9 would let me re-enter the sim but FSX required a end task from the task manager, but only one time per session -- after restarting it would not act up again until the next time I rebooted.Found a reference in the knowledge base that mentioned memory as a possible culprit so I upgraded last week from 1GB to 2GB and have not seen this problem since. Don't know if this is a possibility for you but it has seemed to solve it for me.Steve

Maybe you have some other app that is stealing the focus?I have seen that happen. You might check for other running apps stealing focus. Be wary of spyware doing it too. I have also seen that happen.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian
