November 27, 200619 yr I know this should go into the "GO Flight" Forum, but although I have registered in that Forum, it will not accept my letter. Any help please.I only have the "Advanced Autopilot" Hardware from GoFlight. I have installed their Updated Drivers for FS X. The Hardware works sometimes but not always. The Hardware can suddonly lock during a flight. Can anyone help please? Many thanks.delta.
November 27, 200619 yr Hi,I also use the GoFlight GF-MCP.It "sometimes" locks up. It never has locked up in MSFS9 though.Last time was on an ILS approach. Bad time for it to happen. When it happens I have to click on the aircrafts panel to get things working. For example, to turn off the Autopilot, the GF A/P button will be inoperable so I have to do it fron the aircrafts radio stack. Also, following a GoFlight lockup, after exiting MSFS, the little GoFlight Icon in the Windows tray does not CLOSE and disappear. Also, when everything is working, if I exit MSFSX, the LEDs on the GoFlight modules remain ON! The remain on even if the aircraft is cold and dark ... after normal shutdown! So, GoFlight is not resetting itself properly on exit.I have seen the "no response" on other posts on the GoFlight forum/message board just as you mentioned.I wonder what's up there! November 28, 200619 yr Vaughan,Thanks for reply. I have noticed that even when the MCP Hardware locks (both readouts and LED's), if you look at the instruments on the flightdeck they respond to tuning (using the knobs and buttons) of the MCP Hardware. Are you able to send this information to GoFlight? As I said in my original letter, I cannot. If you have sent a letter, what have been the replies? Are we going to get a new Driver? Thanks.Delta.
November 28, 200619 yr I have posted all of these issues in the GoFlight forum. After many weeks, there has been no response. I wouldn't hold your breath though. Based on past experience, they don't provide much support.fb
November 28, 200619 yr Hi,It has not happened that often and the symptoms may vary when it does. But, bottom line, the "lock up" needs to be fixed. Early releases of any FX upgrade software is bound to have some problems. The GoFlight forum is most often answered by users.I do not understand "why" GF tech. support does not respond. They used to years ago!Mitch, a new member of their team, made a post and gave his phone number.I have called GoFlight, listened to the recording. If placing a product order .... I always got a call back reply!I have noticed recent posts here advising about FX lock ups so there could be some finger pointing and delays for a fix.All I noticed last time it locked up was:Autopilot GF-MCP completely dead, Throttle GF-TQ6 was working, Comm and Nav GF-166 dead. I did not check the GF-T8 or GF-P8.Next time it freezes I will check all the modules for what is inoperative.I just might try giving them a call again! Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
November 28, 200619 yr Vaughan,Where do you find these letters in the GoFlight Forum? I obviously am not looking in the right place. Thanks.Delta.
November 28, 200619 yr What's up with GoFlight? The absolutly worse customer support in the flight sim community! - Will not answer requests for help in their support forum.- Will not respond to emails.- Apparently will not answer the phone.- Cannot or will not fix their software so it is compatible with FSX.Did I miss one?SD
November 28, 200619 yr Delta,GO TO:goflightinc.comCLICK ON:GO FLIGHT FORUMSGO FLIGHT NEWSHELLO FROM MITCH I went backed and looked at my notes:Mitch did not leave his phone number on the forum.I had his name on a stickie note with the Go-Flight toll free telephone number on it.Sorry about that.Guess I was going to "try" to contact him at one point in time. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
November 28, 200619 yr HiI had many problems with the MCP as the Goflight software versions incremented. For FS9 I found a version that worked with the MCP but do not remember the version number. I think it was maybe 1.71. For FSX, I am encountered the same issues I did with FS9 as they moved forward with their newer versions. It seems that FSX at least for me is not working properly.
