How does one select an appropriate STAR/SID?

Yes, apparently!  After updating the default dbases in the PMDG & LittleNM I find myself flying into runways that don't have the same ILS frequencies and things like that.  It happened twice in just a few flights.  Annoying to follow an approach in the 777 to an ILS landing only to not have it find the ILS/GS for that specific runway.  I'm hoping these will be updated by FSAerodata.
