January 5, 20215 yr Hallo, What are you using for steering tiller? I am using rudder pedals, Saitek yoke, airbus joystick (so no Z axis for rudder or tiller) I want to use a game controller like Xbox and using the buttons on the back of the controller. (In a reace game the right one is accelerate and the left one braking) to use the steering tiller. But is this possible? Or do you have another nice option?
January 5, 20215 yr which sim ..... a different answer (& then which aircraft, though obviously a prop / jet (sounds like an airbus) & not most GA). there are a few joysticks with a z twist axis which may / may not be programmed for the task (eg a Logitech 3DPro) for now, cheers john martin
January 5, 20215 yr Hi, for the PMDG NGXu I use a retired Cessna Trim Wheel which is nothing short of perfect in the roll of tiller. It has such a huge range so it's easy to dial in a sensitivity that is perfect and makes taxiing its own joy--I love being able to turn on a dime! The only caveat is as a continuously turning wheel it has no simple centering feature--for that I just put a piece of red tape to indicate where center should be aligned. Unfortunately that part is out of production but there is another product that may work as well: https://flightvelocity.com/products/flight-velocity-trim-wheel?variant=31335234338912&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=CjwKCAiAudD_BRBXEiwAudakX4vKVZhGYHAIuPlseIvIATLEpYFcrPv3AhC5D8zuhJ9-Y6BonJ9htRoCRUMQAvD_BwE Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. January 5, 20215 yr with P3D4/5, I use a discrete Logitech 3DPro as the tiller in PMDG's 77F/W & NGX. i assign that z-axis alongside my pedal's nosewheel / rudder steer with fsuipc. for now, cheers john martin
