January 9, 20215 yr One of my more successful port-overs of the last week's efforts. I was planning to head out of Murmansk (ULMM) and head down to Archangel (ULAA), but got a CTD not too long after heading out. Don't know whether that was down to the portover or the fact that I tend to do a lot of speeding up and slowing down the sim rate when I do this sort of flight. If I'm pootling around low n'slow and admiring the scenery I tend to let the sim run at normal speed, and just occasionally pause to play with the drone, but in these beasts there's too much of nothing going on for an impatient guy like me. I dare say if I was actually attempting to fly the thing (you know, using all those funny buttons and things) that might occupy the attention, but you know me - shallow as they come, it's all about appearances! Funny thing for me is I don't really get excited about tubeliners, but I do like a big transport 'plane. I've managed to get halfway reasonable An124 and 225s working now, this came out ok, and I'm currently strugggling with the Area 51 C-5M Super Galaxy. That one is looking good, takes off and flies fine but I can't get the nose gear to retract. Tried all the various combinations of things with the legacy importer tool, and am now trying to summon up the brain cells to research the whole thing about contact points etc in the cfg files. But if it comes to it, I'll just fly with the nose gear down and just be careful with the screen shots! Anyway, there'll be plenty of fun with this beast, and even more so if anyone ever produces a native version. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
January 10, 20215 yr I don't have MSFS, but I did try the Area 51 C-17 in P3D v5.1 with HF1 and I too got CTD after about 10 to 15 minutes of flying it.
