FE Snarky on Every Checklist Item

Featured Replies

Every item on the L1011 checklist now I get this:

FE: Checklist Item

Me: Proper Response

FE: don't get over-excited, at least let me finish what I'm saying, this is well below standard, etc. Then on to the next item, FE does not respond to //4 items on checklist. After waiting a long time, if I respond, he may repeat, then make a snarky remark. I thought it might be an issue of me not responding properly, but I think I have the //2 //3 //4 //5 //6 and //7 correct in the checklist and in the way I'm  using it. This is a new problem after altering and saving a slightly modified checklist according to the documentation.

The FE is getting and understanding the correct response, but for some reason he's acting like I'm jumping the gun on my answers when I'm not. ("mild insults" and "nagging" boxes unchecked, not that that would help here, and I repeated voice training). Please advise. Annoying to have FE complain about every single checklist item. Thanks!

P.S. I have gotten my own flows put together with sound effects stitched together and 70s boarding music in GSX2 all using Audacity and they are working well. So it's not like I haven't made much progress!

No worries.

First, make sure "mccsL11.dll" is pesent inside \Prepar3D v4\MCE dlls\ or/and \Prepar3D v4\MCE dlls\ folders. This is to make sure FE, FO can read the status of various switches.

Since this arose after editing checklist, I suggest you fall back to the previous one and only editi it in Notepad, not any other tool (Notepad++) that may add some invisible characters which would throw FE and FO off.

For instance, MCE looks at a pecific character to determine where the line ends.

If you didn't have issues with speech reco before modifying the checklist, there is no reason to suspect you need nmore speech training.

From experience, overdoing speech training could make things less efficient. Only custom training on specific words you're having issues with are worth training on.

Eventually, try enabling option "strict checklist" in MCE "advanced options" panel (click <Moe options> button in "General" tab. With that option, FE will challenge once and if you don't get it right, he'll try to just set the switch as expected and move on.

Finally re-typed the checklist manually in notebook and it works okay now.

Good to hear that. There are a few things that needed attention.

Please get the latest patch

Manually replace files as per folder structure and report back. Thanks
