Is there anyway to limit the framerate on the menus?

I recently got my new machine, which is doing wonderous stuff.  I'm now running in 1440 at full ULTRA settings quite happily and have limited the frame rate in game to 30FPS as I personally don't need the 50/60 FPS I was getting.  It also helps keep the temps down a tad in the machine..   however, when I wswitch to menu, either before flight or in-flight..  the FPS goes screaming up to around 900FPS and starts driving all the fans and the GPU like crazy, which just seems daft.

I would have thought that wasting framerate in the menus is something that could be sorted fairly easily without just having an unlimited rate or using the settings locked at 30 to also limit the FPS in the menus.

So far, on testing on the new machine.. this seems to be the only program that I currently use that has menu framerates that are silly..  all the others pretty much lock out at around 100FPS or at the selected FPS for the game which never even makes the GPU murmer.

The vsync in game is a bit erratic. Either use Riva-Tuner as sal9000 says or limit it in your video card drivers.

I am limited to 46 FPS for MSFS in the nvidia drivers and that is what I get in the menus.

Hi,

I reduce my frames with the Riva-Tuner, that also works with Nvidia-cards.

So I had always 33 Frames in all menus.

I also use RivaTuner to lock my frames at 30, it is perfect as you can unlock in flight to see what fps you really get in different situations.
