'Voice' button freeze P3Dv4 after Windows Build 19041 Update

Recommended Posts

Good morning

Yesterday Windows 10 did an update to Build 19041.

Since then, when I click the 'Voice' button on F2SCrew, P3D 4.5 stops responding and I have to 'end task' with the Task Manager.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled FS2Crew but no difference... P3D still freezes up.

I purchased the "MAJESTIC DASH 8 Q400 SPECIAL BUNDLE PACK - P3D 64 BIT" on January 3rd from SimMarket.

Any suggestions welcome and much appreciated... flying without my FO is lonely!

Keith

Good evening

I went through the Quick Start Guide and the Speech Recognition Setup from the beginning and no joy.  I still get the spinning blue circle of 'not responding' when I click the 'voice' button off.  Microphone setup is fine too.

Here is the SpeechEngineLog...

Current Task: Creating the Critical Section Object... SUCCEEDED!
[Unknown Operating System]
[Unknown Flight Simulator]
Current Task: Creating the ISpRecognizer object... SUCCEEDED!
Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows (English - US)
Current Task: Creating the ISpRecoContext object... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Setting the CallBack Function... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Setting the Notifications Interest... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Creating the ISpAudio object... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Setting the Audio Input... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Setting the Recognizer State... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Creating the ISpRecoGrammar object... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Loading the Command and Control grammar from the FS2Crew Grammar resource file... SUCCEEDED!
Current Task: Setting the rule with id 1 to ACTIVE... SUCCEEDED!

I'm at a loss now.

Hi Bryan

Thanks for your patience.

The link above gives me a 404 error.  And it appears to be for Windows 7? I'm using Windows 10.

I'm using the Asus ROG drivers for my motherboard sound device that worked fine before the update.  I can check to see if Asus has new drivers.

Thanks again.

Well, I checked everything twice.  It's all as per the manual.

And the drivers are good too.

When I click 'voice' on, it doesn't recognize speech by displaying the spoken words... I've ran the speech recognition tutorial again.  When I click it off, the spinning blue circle of death.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times

My setup before the Windoze update worked perfectly.

.Oh well... back to flying solo.

Hi folks

Problem solved.

My motherboard uses Realtek audio drivers.  Bryan suggested I un-install those drivers completely and just run with the Microsoft drivers.  That did the trick.

Thanks Bryan.
