SU-34 in FSX Anyone?

Featured Replies

I have tried getting the SU-34 working in FSX. I have replaced all of the FS98 gauges. As soon as I get to 56 kts on takeoff I get the dreaded Sound File Missing error and FSX crashes. I have tried everything I know of. I have the SU-15 working OK in FSX. Any help sure would be appreciated.Regards, Bob.

What sound package does the Su-34 use?Does it come with its own sounds package?RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Hi Rhett. Yes it does. I even tried another complete Sound folder from another plane that works OK. Regards, Bob.

I have found that about 99% of the planes I import into FSX from FS2004, have problems because of the panels. Specifically the gauges.I saw that other thread about military aircraft from FS2004 into FSX. So I got interested and thought I would download an F-5 and try to port it over. Most of the gauges didn't work. And yet, in that thread it was said that they worked fine. Well, they fly fine, but the gauges don't. I think that needs to be emphasized...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Hi Rhett. Replacing the gauges is an easy task with FSPanelStudio. That's what I use. I have successfully converted about 30 planes from FS9 that had bad FS98 gauges. All you have to do is find a non-FS98 gauge of the same type and replace them. I make a list of the types of gauges I need to replace and then do a search on my gauges folder in FS9 for that type of gauge and look at the properties to make sure the gauge I select is not an FS98 type. I then use FSPanelStudio to remove the FS98 gauge (after noting it's position and size)and replace it with the gauge I selected. It is time consuming but well worth it if the plane model is good. There is an update for FSPanelStudio for FSX now. Regards, Bob.

Hi and Thanks to those that responded. I found the error. It was the airspeed gauge I installed to replace the FS98 one in the original plane panel. I did not realize that the gauge called out the airspeed in addition to the analog display. The wav files that were called out by the guage were missing. I use Hexedit on the gauge and found the missing wav filenames then searched my FS9 sounds for the missing sounds. The plane is a beauty. Best regards, Bob.
