What is the crucial criterion that a MSFS add-on airport appears in LNM "Force map to show add-on airports". I've just added some airports to the MSFS community folder. But after loading the Scenery Library only some of them appear on the map (red airport symbol with yellow circle).

All airports from "Community" and additonal airports in "OneStore" (or "Steam") folders are considered add-on except:

1. If an airport is locked down by DRM (look for BGL.fsarchive files) it cannot be loaded at all and you'll see stock (and no yellow ring).
2. An addon only changing 3D structures like buildings not providing an airport layout is neither loaded/detected. Result as above.

Would this mean that the airport has no "layout.json". or what do you mean with airport layout is not loaded/detected?

I mean a airport layout structure missing in the BGL file(s). This describes runways, taxiways, parking spots and more. Not related to the JSON files.
