Love the last update (hate the previous one)

After the last update (three weeks or so ago?) my PC rebooted whenever I tried to fly in MSFS. Sometimes the PC rebooted during loading a flight, sometimes after 10 seconds in the cockpit and I managed 2 or 3 times to actually fly for 10 minutes or so but... it always ended with a sudden and un-announced complete reboot of my PC.

So... I spend two weekends (ask my wife) trying to figure out what was wrong with my PC. Checked the hardware in all possible ways, opened the case, re-attached the power cables, checked the GPU, RAM, etc. Used benchmark software, utilities, to check my setup (all seemed fine) etc. I even went as far to do a PSID revert on both my Crucial SSD's which forced me to do a complete clean reinstall of Windows 10 twice, I (obviously) reinstalled MSFS from scratch and did so two times...!!! Yes, the entire download! No luck. A sudden reboot every time I tried to fly. In the end I thought a new PSU might be needed although I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I even looked at a new PC already while I am quite satisfied with how MSFS ran on my old rig.

And then I installed yesterday's update. I didn't have much time but tried a flight anyway. You never know. After 25 minutes I was still flying. Unfortunately I had to go and end the flight. This evening I redid that flight (which I tried to do quite a few times during the last weeks). Started from cold and dark and after 55 minutes I was able to complete the flight and go to cold and dark again. I didn't change anything on my PC. It was the exact same system as before the update. But now... it seems to work again...! It ran perfectly. Not a problem. Smooth. Great. Awesome. Rock steady.

PLEASE PRAY... that MSFS will stay this way...! I love yesterday's update, but boy, the previous update somehow hated my system (and apparently my system alone). I sincerely hope I won't have to return here tomorrow with bad news...

Hold on this can’t be right, a positive comment about yesterday’s update! 😊

Sounds like it was a frustrating couple of weekends, as a pretty long term simmer now I know I’ve been there before where your just scratching your head and a bit lost. Glad to see your all sorted buddy, enjoy the skies 😊👍

word not allowed word not allowed word not allowed and other words that aren't allowed... Did my third flight today and the PC rebooted again after some 15 minutes. What a bummer. This means I am done with MSFS until I can afford a new PC. word not allowed word not allowed word not allowed...

PC issues aside, your fine with the reduced autogen and seeing a visible ring of detail around your aircraft as you fly along?😶

If MSFS fails to run at ALL the reduced autogen and visible ring tend to become less of a problem. 🙄

Very true.  Looks like we both are at the same place.  Done until these unreasonable issues are fixed.  For me it’s the blocking of modders from addressing the LOD tree distance issue and for you it just won’t run correctly.  This forced update isn’t working.  I'm tired of using the sim so much in one month knowing in the back of my mind all I love about the sim can be gone the next month.  This is insane.
