Stuck on Step 9

Featured Replies

I was absent from FS for some time and now i decided to go with MSFS. I installed MCE again and went through the wizard. Everything went smoothly except Step 9. It instructed me to speak the sentence in green color and the command will be repeated. Well, I speak it but nothing is repeated. I went through it three times already. As i said, all the previous steps went smoothly, no problems, my voice is recognized and I can hear everything. What's going on with step 9?

Could be that the wizard is expecting audio In fom a different input or audio is playing via the output you aren't expecting.

If using a conventional (non-USB) headset and sound device on your PC is from Realltek, plug the jacks to the back of the PC (not the front connectors).

Otherwise, go back to step 2 where there is a button <Change Sound device> (assuming you have many)

Select correct Audio In and Audio out from the listboxes and click OK. Then try running the wizard again.

I already did all that. I have the headset and the mic plugged in the back, all the training and that stuff went smoothly, it's just that step 9 doesn't work. I'll try if it works in the sim anyway.

I just went ahead. When I start MSFS 2020 I can hear MCE voices (saying OK, and then some ATC voice) but now I get "Simco64_Ldr app failed to start" error. Oh, man, why can't things just go smoothly.

I have UAC disabled and all that.

MSFS 2020 is supported since October 2020. I assume you downloaded and installed latest (you may have used the patch and probably a bad idea coming from a much older version than the most ecent ones).

Ideally, Windows UAC is set to default (2 notches up the slider), then just download, unzip and install to default path.

No files are added to MSFS installation folder.

Simco64_Ldr.exe is the newly developed app that connects MCE to MSFS.

Make sure Anti-virus didn't move it to the vault. It should be in \Multi Crew Experience\ installation folder.

If you did override folders permissions and things like that, I'm afraid you need to have a look at this thread.
