Failing to recognise flight level reports/becoming unrespons

Featured Replies

So this is happening over and over again.  I get to somewhere around cruise altitude and report my altitude.  If this is not understood,  instead of asking me to say again, ATC goes silent and won't respond to anything.  At this point I disconnect and reconnect Pilot2atc which doesn't always work for the rest of the flight.

How can I get around this?  I suppose I need to train the system to recognise flight levels a bit better for starters..  I guess my question is, when It does stop responding, do I need to reconnect or will it become functional again at the next handover?

If you don't get a response, try saying it again or using the SayIt feature.  You can also try doing a radio check.

If you have mis-dialed the radio, then there likely would not be a controller there and so you would get no response to anything, so double check the tuned frequency with the assigned frequency.
