Best connection for PC to TV

Featured Replies

I have a 21" Monitor and a 32" TV connected to my PC, (Nvidia GeForce 2060) The monitor is connected by a Display Port Lead, the TV is connected by a Display Port to VGA Adaptor.

Would it be better to connect the TV through HDMI?

I am running mine with HDMI 2.0 cables at 4k with no problems. Highly recommended by me.

I agree with pgde above.  I am confused however.  What connection is the current cable connected to at the TV end of the current cable?  The last TV I had with a VGA connector was an early 1980's Sony Profeel, which was actually a monitor that could also serve as a TV.

It's a VGA. Think the telly is about 10 years old, though possibly older. Must have been early smart tv which I bought for my sons room. It has 4 hdmi, a VGA and the red, white & yellow sockets.

Thanks will try hdmi in the morning

Wow!  VGA, Composite (the three colored inputs) and HDMI.  That might be worth something to collectors. LOL!  Uhh, Seriously.  Interesting, all three avenues carry sound.  I do not believe I ever had a TV per se that had VGA.  Just that 80's vintage Sony Profeel.
