March 17, 20215 yr When/if I can find one, I'm in a quandary over these two cards. The biggest advantage from what I can see to the 6800XT is the extra 6 GB of VRAM. The other features such as better ray tracing and DLSS would favor nVidia. I'm getting a new PC with either a 5900XT or an 11900K. I use it for both play and work. I've vacillated back and forth between the two cards and wonder what others might think? Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale
March 17, 20215 yr I've had two Radeon GPUs over the past 20 years. Both drove me insane - only with simulators - fine for all else. Not going back. Not being tribal about chipset brands. March 17, 20215 yr Author I had only one or two Radeon (I think) over the years and that goes way back. nVidia has done the job for me for a long time so that is something to consider. Rick Abshier 5900X | RTX 5070 Ti OC| 64 GB@3600 | India Pale Ale
March 21, 20215 yr Recommend taking a look at Hardware Unboxed video on YouTube about Nvidia driver overhead. Seems to slot right into the topic of CPU bottlenecked titles.
