March 18, 20215 yr Hi, Just wondering if something can be done with the copilot constantly asking if I'm ready to taxi when I have control of the radios. I use PF3 but I maintain control of the radios until after takeoff. I use the PF3 push and start feature, and everytime after pushback the F/O starts asking if I'm ready to taxi even though I have not requested it. Becomes a bit annoying. Again I have control of the radios during this time and will call for taxi clearance when ready and don't need to be prompted. I seem to remember there was a change after the first or second PF3 update to fix some hotkey issues but not 100% sure. Thanks for a most outstanding product and support, Tony J Running FSX, MCE, PF3. Edited March 18, 20215 yr by Fighter Guy

Tony J Could be because it has a couple of exe files embedded in the zip and security software is trying to protect you (for good reason most of the time). I suggest you simply update to the very latest Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
March 26, 20215 yr Author Gerald, I'm still unable to get 2.9.0.7 to load on my machine, for whatever reason however, I was able to get the patch and and install it, which shows 2.9.0.4. However the F/O still continues to ask if I'm ready to taxi even though I have control of the radios. I am using PF3 with the request pushback and taxi enabled. Problem occurs just about when pushback is complete. Even when I tell him no, he comes back after a few seconds and asks again if I'm ready. He asks even though I have requested taxi myself and have received taxi clearance from PF3. Thanks for the hard work, Tony J

March 27, 20215 yr Author Gerald, Tried the patch, but the same conditions are exactly the same as when I tried to load 2.9.0.7. MCE will not connect to the sim (FSX), and I get a FS9 error message about fsinsider.dll. I compared the fsinsider.dll from one that worked to the one that did not, and I noticed that on the one that works there is a folder called Manifest vs the one that does not work which does not have that folder. Maybe this has a bearing on the situation? Again nothing has changed on my system between 2.9.9.0 and any of the newer installations. Thanks for the continued assistance, Tony J

March 28, 20215 yr Author Gerald, I'm using FSX boxed version with acceleration pack installed and PF3. Initially, after loading 2.9.0.7 and the same after loading the patch. With FSX running and starting MCE, the following message displays. I close FSX, the wizard begins and goes through the setup process again. Once completed I start FSX, then MCE and the following display appears. The initial splash shows with the version # and indicating trying to connect, and eventually times out with the error. Happens regardless whether I am at the FSX spinning aircraft screen or on the ramp with a flight loaded. Hope this helps. Tony J

The manifest is embedded inside dll or exe where applicable. I suggest you re-download the patch and use "fsInsider.dll" found inside <FSX installation folder> Do not use the dll found in "fsInsider for FS9" (ahipping in main installer) Go to C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Multi Crew Experience\ folder and open "dll.xml" Ensure you have these entries <Launch.Addon> <Name>Multi Crew Experience</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>True</ManualLoad> <Path>fsInsider.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> Normally, <ManualLoad>True</ManualLoad> would be set to <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> so that FSX loads the dll silently. Leave it enabled so you can check whether the sim is prompting to authorize it. Make sure you reply Yes. If all goes well when FSX is up and running, should see a "Multi Crew Experience> menu under Addons menu May want to run boxed edition as admin. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

Gerald, With respect, All the support you have provided has been followed to the letter. I extracted the files directly from the patch to their respective locations. I DO NOT have FS9 loaded anywhere on my computer. I’ve never even owned FS9. The screenshots were taken today. The dll.xml file in AppData is exactly as indicated. FSX and MCE are all running with administrative rights. When fsinsider.dll ask to be run as trusted I indicate yes. I’ve never had any problem loading MCE prior to v2.9.0.7. I’m not saying the problem is not possibly somewhere on my computer, but isn’t it odd that I have no problem loading v2.9.9.0? Tony J Edited March 28, 20215 yr by Fighter Guy additional info
March 28, 20215 yr Author Ensure you have these entries <Launch.Addon> <Name>Multi Crew Experience</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>True</ManualLoad> <Path>fsInsider.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> These are the entries in my dll.xml file. When FSX loads it ask do I wish to run fsinsider.dll, I click yes, but nothing happens. MCE does not start, (I have it starting automatically) since it does not start, I open it manually. At that point I get the trying to connect splash screen and the subsequent error.

Tony J Instead of selectively extracting files, I suggest you right-click the downloaded zip file (patch file), then select "Extract All" from drop-down menu and using Windows built-in unzipping capability. Then manually copy and paste files as per folder structure. Barring that, It could be one of those odd cases where Windows prevents dll loading. Are you able to find the menu entry in main FSX Add-ons menu. If not, you can assume that the dll isn't loading. Maybe Windows doesn't want to load a specific dll See this thread Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
