Unable to start left engine on the CRJ planes

Featured Replies

I am following the instructions and check list as well as having watched videos.

Right engine #2 starts fine.

Left spools up to 25 but temp never comes up.

I started a ticket with Aerosoft.

And I searched this and other forums for others with this problem. But I could not find any others.

I may be doing something wrong, but I can operate the #2 just fine. Shut down and restart.

I am using the Bravo Throttle and customized it as per instructions. Once the levers are unlocked with mouse then I can move the throttles with Bravo, before then they have no effect.

Any thoughts are welcome. It would be nice to have 2 working engines.

How complete is the checklist and are you following it?  Have seen no other reports of this so those may be valid questions.

I am following the checklist on the tablet. And in the Tutorial in the documentation.

And I am following the vides from the Dude. And others. Seems to work fine for others in the videos.

I suggest unbinding all quadrant switches and using your mouse to see if you find success with that method.  I have experienced some instances where some selections with my quadrant disable mouse operations.  So unbind them and see if when just using the mouse for start up if you succeed.  Then that isolates the issue to settings with the quadrant.  If not, then something else is in play.

I will give that a shot.

Thanks.

Last week when I was having a brain fade, I was having trouble starting the 172's engine.  I was experiencing some "consternation".  I KNOW how to start this engine.  What the heck is wrong.  I went through the checklist twice, perhaps checking off an item or two as "of course I did that".  On the third time through the checklist I found I had assumed I had cleared the fuel shutoff.

I had not.

Engine started rather easily then...

Got it working.

It was a problem with the Bravo Throttle quadrant.

I unbound all the switches and now 1 & 2 start as they should.

I will add buttons in one at a time to find the problem.

Thanks fppilot!

Did a quick flight KBOS-KPSM.

Hand flew VFR. Just to check her out.

You need to do a lot of trimming if you don't use the AP.

But she flies very nicely. Lands beautifully. Has a nice feel.

Tomorrow back to learning the FMS and AP systems. I already did a lot of FP setup so I have that down.

It was just a bit frustrating after the whole setup sequence not to be able to start one engine.

So now the real fun begins...
