MSFS 2020 - New ships and boats for St. Martin

Featured Replies

Neat new addition to the area around St. Martin, with cruise ships, power boats, sail boats, and cargo ships. I am not associated with this software at all, I just found it and thought it was pretty amazing.

Nice review.  I have tried the newly released rendition upon release and while it does add some life to Anguilla, St. Martin and St. Barths it still lacks a certain luster .  Boat life in both Anguilla and St. Martin is very active as there always boats zipping around Marigot and the inlet by the airport (may be a bit of a challenge to develop without an impact to fps).  Also there I have not seen much activity for the ferry between Anguilla and St. Martin (Marigot and the airport boat ports).

The developer of the airport add-on did a fairly good job especially around the AXA terminal of fixing that horrendous elevation mismatch.  However, I wish that he would have given a bit more attention to the approach end of runway 10 as that area was built up during the runway extension.  So during the approach one would/should be able to see the elevation during the approach (most of which over overgrown by grass/shrubbery).  Before they worked on that my aunt lived at the end of runway 10 and i used to walk out to the runway and hop into my cousins Baron 58 when he'd pick me up for a days work (oh how times have changed).

You made mention of the possibility of a cruise ship port  being built on the island changing the feel of the island, which I will disagree with you on.  The island thrives on tourism as you are aware and it give the island a chance to bot be dependent solely on its tourists having access to the island only by air shuttle or boat.  Addition streams of income will certainly boost the economy and allow tourists arriving by ship to enjoy day tours to some of the famous/popular beaches which would be normally twice a week.

Cheers
