Recommended Posts

Hello!

i am wondering where do I go and find what flex temp to put in my fmc in the CRJ? I couldn’t find this information in the manual.

Thanks!

Probably not going to get that info. Its company specific.. but maybe someone will post it.I recommend using between 35-45. That should work well.

A flex temp comes down to a lot of factors: weight, temperature, runway length, wind, obstacle clearance...it’s not a simple calculation and at least on larger airliners can vary a lot depending on these factors.  I’ve spent a lot of time flying the FSL A320 which includes flex temp calculations and I’ve seen anything from full TOGA takeoffs (no flex) to flex 60.

I’m not sure how much it varies on a smaller airliner like this though I’d be curious to hear more on what a typical range is...I know there are a few RL CRJ pilots on the forum here.

I’ve been using 40 as a number grabbed out of the sky so based on the preceding post maybe I’m in the neighbourhood.

My last flight was out of 01 at KDCA so I went full TOGA for that departure!

Best answer for the Aerosoft CRJ comes from one of theDude's videos.  Go here and advance to around 14 minutes and 30 seconds

Such a shame for study level product not to offer a flex-calc tab/window?... something like a small dialogue window with all the necessary info to be plugged in just as the real world pilots using the same craft would. Don't currently fly this however that would bother me. The Flybywire 320nx has one made for them via code builders as a website you access. A320 Take-Off Performance Calculator (wabpro.cz)
