March 30, 20215 yr Good morning, I have followed the instructions in the manual regarding the creation of a virtual data card. I have created a folder called "FPLN" in the path where I have installed the Garmin program in my case: C:\Program Files (x86). In the FPLN folder, I have unzipped and left the zip files "flightplans, zip" that you leave as an example in the GTNTrainer in this case, KSLE_KSLE.gfp and user.wpt. Then, following the instructions of the manual, I try to import the flight plans inside the game from the GTN-Flight Plan page-Menu key-Catalog key device but in that path, only the "Delete All" and "Delete Pending" buttons appear and I don't see the "Import" button as you indicate in the manual. What can I be doing wrong? Thank you,https://imgur.com/a/toyYU1B Edited March 30, 20215 yr by Tveo

This is not the path the manual is documenting. Please just do this (simpler): Open the RXP GTN log file (see user's manual for file/path) in notepad Read the log file content for any comment about flight plans. Note the path it is expecting loading the flight plans from. Create the FPLN folder as indicated in the log file.
March 31, 20215 yr The manual is correct. I think you're just looking in the wrong place. Start by creating a folder called FPLN and put it here: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases You now have this: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN --- You were wondering where the flight plans are stored. Garmin and RealityXP have various files stored in multiple places. You're looking here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin ... DO NOT GO THERE There's also this here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GTN Simulation\X-Plane ... DO NOT GO THERE You DO want to be here, this is where they're stored (along with the user.wpt file): C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN And this is only where the *sample* flight plans are: C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\Common\GtnTrainer\flightplans.zip Edited March 31, 20215 yr by Mark Brandon Printup
April 22, 20215 yr Author Good morning, First of all I apologize for not answering sooner. Thanks to Mark for his answer because, indeed, I was obsessed with looking for the solution in another folder or directory other than the one specified in the manual. Now that I have configured it correctly, I can access the flight plan import. What I still don't know is, where the flight plans created within the GTN are stored. I thought that once the FPLN folder is created, those flight plans that I can create and save from the GTN will be stored in that folder but I obese that is not the case. I have even observed that, using an aircraft with 2 GTNs in the panel (like the KA350 from AFL) both GTNs are independent in the creation and storage of these flight plans. Also, if I create a flight plan from a particular aircraft model, this flight plan cannot be accessed when I change aircraft. My question is: where are the flight plans created from the GTN750 stored? are the GTN1 and GTN2 ones stored in different folders? even for different aircrafts? Thank you ! They are not stored individually and not individually accessible except in the running gauge. Instead they are stored as non-volatile system files within a file structure defined by Garmin. There is a separate "sys_nand_" file for each gauge where the _ is a variable as a letter. ex. sys_nandi and sys_nandj. You have (2) instances of each GTN gauge for your use. So for instance with the RXP GTN 750 you have a GTN 750_1 and a GTN 750_2. What you store in _1 is kept in its sys_nand_ file and what you store in _2 is kept in its sys_nand_ file. You can only manipulate individual stored flight plans in the gauge itself. However you can from time to time backup the sys_nan_ files to preserve what you have stored in the gauge. This storage method is coded into the Garmin Trainers and is a function of them. RXP uses those trainers as its foundations. My files are stored in the following path on my system: C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\GTN\nonvol And by the way the method of storing this form of data in the GNS gauges is very similar. Also be aware that your stored flight plans will eventually become obsolete and run afoul of rules Garmin has built into its Trainers. This happens when navdata is updated. This happens most often with the GTN gauges when Garmin updates the GTN Trainer, and in doing so provides an updated nav database. The most common "fouls" or rejections occur due to stored flight plans that contain transitions, such as Departures and/or Arrivals, or approaches. Transition CHICKN3 eventually becomes CHICKN4. Approach ILS 28R may soon become ILS 29R due to renaming that may occur because of the earth's magnetic shift. When issues like these occur, the running GTN gauge in the sim will "lock" the affected flight plan(s) until they are edited or deleted. Just things to keep in mind in regard to stored flight plans.
