April 4, 20215 yr Good Day, Over the past few months I have been mastering making freeware scenery for FSX. I have gotten to the point where I can make a scenery with correct taxiways, runways, gate assignments, and some static buildings and objects. As much as this is cool, I want to learn how to make scenery with custom objects, custom ground textures, etc., like most payware sceneries, so that people who don't want to pay for scenery everywhere they fly can still have a good looking sim.. Can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial for getting started with this? Edited April 4, 20215 yr by Vapor "An optimist built the airplane, a pessimist built the parachute."
April 4, 20215 yr Unless you're using 3DSMax or Cinema 4D, the n probably the best option for making 3D stuff is Blender, which is free, and probably the best place for tutorials on that is youtube. It is also possible to make 3D scenery for FSX with FSDS, which is very easy to learn. For texturing, there are some great free image creation programs, such as paint.net, which is probably the best freebie paint program, but you're probably going to want Adobe Photoshop and possibly Illustrator too if you really want to go for it in creating textures. Again there are a lot of Photoshop tutorials on youtube, including one or two on my own youtube channel, but for a lot of techniques and stuff, there are some cool Photoshop tutorials at hongkiat.com.
