Sound File Swap, P3D to MFS

Featured Replies

Is it possible to swap out the Sound File in an MSFS aircraft & replace it with the SF from a P3D aircraft?

I don't know the answer, but it would be good to also know if an 'alias' can be used to "borrow" the sounds from a different aircraft.

I purchased the Bredok3d B737MAX and found the sound files too hushed - almost sounded like a vacuum cleaner. I saw a note in the docs for the 737MAX that you could replace the sound files with something else. So, I purchased the TSS Boeing 737 CFM56-7B26 Pilot Edition from Simmarket which is designed for P3D. After extracting the sound files, I simply copied them all into the sound folder ( MSFS\Community\aircraft-bredok3d-boeing737\SimObjects\Airplanes\Boeing737\sound ) and "wham-o" - instant sound upgrade!! I left all the existing files, Asobo_B747_8i.PC.PCK, and sound.xml in place. I would think transferring sound files from an existing P3D aircraft should work. But that's something I haven't tried yet.
