  1. Thanks for sharing the link. Much appreciated
  2. I had a similar experience happen over the weekend. I ended a flight and the splash screen appeared with the progress bar slowly advancing at the bottom of the screen. But it never returned to the main screen. I finally ended up closing FS2020. But after closing, the background music kept playing despite there being no evidence of FS2020 running in task manager. Very weird. I ended up restarting my PC and FS2020 worked normally afterwards. I have no explanation.
  3. Looks like there's a chance the 727-100 may happen: https://flightsim-studio.com/news/status-quo-q2-2025
  4. "Backspace" returns the camera view from external view back to the cockpit. I would like to remain with the external camera but just toggle the external HUD off with a key (like backspace). Anyway, thanks for the suggestion.
  5. I wish this feature could be set up to toggle on and off in MSFS2024. I like to fly from the external camera quite often so I like the external HUD to be enabled most of the time. However, when I want to take screenshots from the external camera views it's an inconvenience, besides an immersion killer, to go into the menu to turn this feature off before taking a screenshot. In the early days of MSFS2020, there was a developer (Mugz) who created a toggle option for the FS2020 external HUD. So, it is possible. I just wish Asobo would add the ability to toggle the FS2024 external HUD in a future SU. Please Asobo?
  6. I hope this gets fixed in SU3 as these floating taxiway and runway orbs (not sure you can call these "lights") are real immersion killers. During daylight hours there are no longer any taxiway or runway light poles. At dusk, these floating orbs appear. Ugh
  7. So when DLSS4 came on the scene there were multiple steps needed (download the DLL files for DLSS4, modify settings in nvidia Inspector, etc.) to get the benefit of DLSS4. Is all that still required if updating to the latest nvidia drivers? Or is it simply a matter of installing the latest driver through the nvidia app or through NVCleanInstall? If it makes any difference I have a 4090 card. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  8. Bad_T - thanks for the new Flightplan map options. I tried it out and really like it! Works beautifully! I had been using various presets to add in the airports and sceneries I needed for a flight but those presets tend to add too many airports. This really keeps it to a minimum. Every time I think there's no way AL could get any better, you find a way to do it! Can't thank you enough for AL. It's still the ultimate tool for both my FS2020 and FS2024 flying!
  9. Pardon my lack of knowledge, but what is DDU? I have seen this in several posts but I still have yet to figure out what the acronym stands for. Any help/clarification is appreciated.
  10. I started using LNM in MSFS2020 as soon as it became available. Such a wonderful app! I am SO HAPPY it's now part of my MSFS2024 toolkit! Thanks so much for all the hard work that went into adapting it for MSFS2024!
  11. Thanks for the replies! it's good to know it's not just me and my setup. I do know that ALN is not CTAF during day operations since I fly there IRL. It definitely has controllers during the day. I'll put in a Zendesk ticket and hope this is an oversight that Asobo is planning to fix in an upcoming Sim Update or hotfix.
  12. Is anyone else having issues with missing tower frequencies for airports that should have a tower? My home airport (KALN) has a tower but the frequency doesn't appear in the ATC Frequencies list or when I attempt to contact KALN tower. The tower frequency is listed as CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) which is basically a UNICOM channel, not ATC in the tower. I have found other airports near me that should have a manned tower but missing ATC functions. Larger airports, like St. Louis International has tower, ground, etc. frequencies. Just trying to figure out if I have a messed up setting somewhere. Thanks in advance!
  13. I mapped "Cockpit/External View Mode" to a joystick button. Good luck
  14. This might be a duplicate of what JonathanC has but this helped me: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/581432-external-pan-view-setup/ I realize this is for MSFS2020 settings but I found that MSFS2024 has the same settings. Hope this helps
  15. I'm really excited for this release. My late father flew the T-33 in the USAF and the North Dakota Air National Guard. Flight Sim gives me the opportunity in some small way to experience what my dad flew. Day one buy for me too.
  16. GAIST Ultra V5 is the latest https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/24877/msfs-ai-ships-boats-global-traffic/
  17. I did see one of those FeelThere ramp defects when taxiing out on a flight today. I hadn't run into one before today. I bought the airport through Simmarket so it's not an issue with just the MS Store / Marketplace edition. Hey Denny, I have to give a shout out to a fellow Parks College grad! I graduated from Parks in 1986 with a BS in Aerospace Engineering and a BS in Aviation Maintenance Engineering. I too was sorry to see the old Cahokia campus close. I actually have never been to the new Parks facility at the SLU campus but I hear it's very nice. I enjoyed my Parks experience too!
  18. I'd like a more complete version of KCPS too. I fly there on occasion in real life and in MSFS. I can't make any promises but if I get some time during the July 4 holiday, I will try to make some updates to KCPS with the SDK. If that happens, I'll let you know, fppilot.
  19. Hi Ryan, I would be happy to provide you the version I have of ALN. I'll send you a PM and figure out the best way to get a zip file of the airport to you.
  20. Liked your comments on KALN. I fly a Mooney M20J out of KALN when I can afford to put fuel in it! 🙂 The airport restaurant had great food but it became a "COVID casualty". I may have downloaded your FSX/P3D version of St. Louis Regional. It was certainly better than the default airport! In MSFS, KALN has few, if any, buildings or hangars so I used the SDK to add some hangars and make it look closer to real life. I've never uploaded it to flightsim.to or other sites since it relies on the freeware Orbx scenery Fairways (OG20) for the T-hangars. One of these days, I'll rip out the Orbx dependency and add something from the SDK library or one of the other freeware libraries and upload to flightsim.to
  21. I have both RWS and FeelThere versions of KSTL. Of the two, I think I like the FeelThere version a little better and here's why: 1) The RWS scenery takes up a bunch of RAM (26GB to 28GB of my 32GB of DDR5 RAM) when loading the airport. It's one of the few payware airports I have that requires that much resources to load. To RWS credit, they did release a new version that fixed the FPS issues I had with the initial RWS version of KSTL, but I'm still not sure why it requires so much resources to operate. In bad weather or heavy AI traffic situations, I've run into performance issues due to the lack of memory overhead. In comparison, FeelThere uses about 16GB to 17GB so I have more room for bad weather, AI traffic, etc. 2) With RWS, there are also some issues with missing Boeing manufacturing buildings on the east side of the airport and some buildings to the south of the terminal where it appears that a flatten region went too far. KSTL is my "home" airport so it kind of ruins the immersion factor with the missing / flattened buildings. FeelThere's version does not flatten the Boeing buildings, and even includes the Boeing logo on the building exterior. 3) In real life, runway 11-29 rises slightly in elevation looking to the west. With the excessive flattening in the RWS version, runway 11-29 is missing that rising terrain. With the FeelThere version, you can see that rising elevation in runway 11-29. Neither scenery has great night lighting although I like FeelThere's terminal lighting a little better. My only complaint with the FeelThere version is that the jetways do not connect with AI aircraft. Kind of ruins the immersion factor. Hope this helps.
  22. I assume you're referring to the app Process Lasso, maybe?
  23. This is great news! I had this in P3D and it really added to the immersion when flying around port cities like Seattle and Vancouver. Can't wait to see this in MFS2020!
  24. Found the file and that fixes the problem! THANKS!! I appreciate the help!!
  25. I have flown and enjoyed FS9 since it was first released. I recently re-installed it on my new computer and set up several AI traffic files. Upon landing this evening, I noticed that the flashing beacons on the AI aircraft waiting for take off all flash at the same time. I recall reading a post on AVSIM a long time ago about modifying an effects file or config file to get the flashing beacons on the AI aircraft to flash at different rates. Hope I'm not imagining that. If someone can steer me in the right direction I would be most grateful! Thanks in advance!
